Team Red, led by Fatima Yousif of Sihanoukville, carved through the field to take the title with a magnificent seven wins out of seven, including beating Team Purple 13-8 in Sunday’s final.
The names of 120 participants from Cambodia, Vietnam, Thailand and other nations were drawn from a hat on Saturday to establish the eight teams that competed in pool games the same day.
The sides were then seeded for knockout rounds on Sunday.
Cambodia Beer sponsored the annual event this year, supplying free-flowing beer to the thirsty players, who enjoyed ‘boat race’ chugging relay competitions between games.
An additional ‘Slip n’ Slide Layout Contest’, which involved jumping to catch a frisbee in midair before sliding along a watered sheet of plastic, was won by Phnom Penh expat T J Brown.
