RSISA cruise to top

Rising Stars International Sports Academy cruised to the top of the Phnom Penh Youth League basketball competition with two emphatic wins in the U18 Boys category on Saturday at Northbridge School.

The academy boys slammed Pour en Sourire d’Enfants 38-11 before rounding off a 19-6 victory over Lycee Decartes to keep up their perfect record of four straight wins.

RSISA’s most valuable player, Humphery Gabriel, was in his usual rampant mood, shooting 16 points in the first game and 10 points in the second game.

In the Girls & U14 Boys division, the young guns of RSISA were too strong for the PSE girls team, running away with a 28-10 win before seeing off PSE U14 boys 14-7 to stay top of the standings.

In the other games, Lycee Descartes boys team dispatched PSE 28-6 in their U18 clash, while their female schoolmates also won 10-12 in a closely contested match with East West International School girls.

PSE boys downed East West 16-6 and Lycee Descartes girls got the better of their counterparts from PSE 8-6.

The next round of basketball games will be held at Lycee Descartes on March 16.
