A Singaporean drug trafficker sentenced to 18 years in prison for attempting to smuggle five kilograms of heroin to Malaysia appealed to have his sentence reduced yesterday.
See Zhi Kwang, 50, was arrested in December 2000 after immigration officers at the Phnom Penh International Airport caught him with packets of heroin strapped to his body, said Samrith Sophal, the Appeal Court’s presiding judge.
In court, See confessed to the crime but said he was motivated by debt.
The court will deliver its verdict on February 11.
